How To Draw A Cartoon Vulture. There are so many different species of birds in the wild! Some are big, some are small, some are colourful, and some are more subtle. You also get predatory birds and prey, and vultures would fall somewhere in between. Also, check out our cat colouring pages. These large, odd-looking birds are scavengers, eating the remains left behind by predators. They also look quirky and interesting, which makes drawing a cartoon vulture a fun challenge! We cover this in the tutorial we have prepared for you. The seven steps here will show you that it can be easy and fun! You can draw many more characters like cute drawing ideas, Anubis drawing, cat drawing, cobra drawing, blueberry drawing, coconut drawing and many more drawing for kids.
Step 1:
For this first step of our how to draw a cartoon vulture tutorial, we’ll start with the bird’s beak. This is drawn with many curved and rounded lines. You should closely follow the reference image here, as there are quite specific shapes for each section of the beak! It also ends in a pointed tip at the top and bottom of the beak. The curved lines also extend from the top, as shown in our example. These form the start of the head that we will add in the next steps.
Step 2:
This second stage of drawing the cartoon vulture adds more head, face, and neck. First, use more curved lines to slim down the rounded back of the head. Next, we will draw the eye of the vulture. This will be drawn as a round shape with oval shapes inside. We will also add some small curved lashes around the eyes. Finally, extend a few longer curved lines from the base of the beak to the thin neck of the bird.
Step 3:
At the base of a vulture’s neck is a kind of “collar” of feathers that we will draw in this step. We’ll also start drawing the body, but let’s draw this collar first. The necklace is drawn with smaller rounded lines that connect, as shown in the reference image. Next, use more wavy lines down the neck for the start of the body. That’s all now; then go to step 4!
Step 4:
A vulture won’t get very far without wings, so let’s add that aspect in this step of our guide to drawing a cartoon vulture! The wing will have rounded lines for the outline and rows of smaller rounded lines for the feather textures. We’ll also be adding more curved lines for the rest of the body and the start of the legs, finishing the legs in the next step!
Step 5:
It’s time to finish the rest of the legs for this cartoon vulture design before adding the finishing touches in the next step. Draw thin, curved shapes for the vulture’s toes, then add lines through them to create texture. Finally, draw finer shapes for the tail feathers, and then we’re ready for step 6!
Step 6:
In this step of our tutorial on how to draw a cartoon vulture, we are not going to draw the bird itself! Instead, we’ll finish it off with the branch it’s sitting on, which sets you up for some fun colouring in the next step. To draw this branch, we used slightly wavy lines for the outline, then added similar wavy lines inside for the wood texture. Once you’ve drawn this branch, you’re ready for the finishing touches! Designing a wallpaper is always fun because you can take it to the next level.
Step 7:
This cartoon vulture design is already awesome, but we’re going to make it even better with some colours in this final step! In our reference image, you’ll notice that we kept the colours more realistic despite the cartoonish style of the design. This means we use yellow for the beak, pink for the skin, and then shades of brown for the feathers. These colours are your guide if you want to take a similar approach, but you can also opt for unique colours if you prefer! This is your chance to take control and show off what you can do with your colour creativity, so go wild and see what happens! You can even try art mediums you don’t normally use to give your colours a unique look.
